So, you think you can jerk a chicken? Before you curry that goat, or salt that fish, let us show you how to cook like a true Jamaican
urious about the secrets of jerk seasoning and spices? Wish you could prepare exotic fruit, such as ackee? How about traditional dishes, like “Run Down?” You’re in luck, because Jakes Kitchen offers cooking lessons!
Jerk Chicken, Jerk Fish, Escoveitched Red Snapper — really any Jamaican dish on our menus — with Chef Shevan and Chef Kern you’ll master them all. Our dishes change based on the catch of local fishermen and the crops of local farmers, so everyday we’ll have a new dish for you to eat and a new skill for you to learn.
Our lessons are normally scheduled for midweek, between 3 and 5 p.m. Call ahead and let us know. Our chefs will be ready to teach you all.

“One of my favorite things is to go for a swim in Great Bay in late morning and then have lunch at the Lobster Pot. I love that you can come right out of the sea, order seafood that’s just as fresh, and eat it under the thatch outside on the beach wrapped in a towel. Bring backgammon!
